Ben Halpert
Ben Halpert is an information security researcher and practitioner. He has keynoted and presented sessions at numerous conferences, including the RSA Security Conference, InfoSec World, IEEE, and ACM conferences. Ben was a contributing author to Readings and Cases in the Management of Information Security and the Encyclopedia of Information Ethics and Security. He was a contributor to seven Special Publications for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Ben writes a monthly security column for Mobile Enterprise magazine.
Ben Halpert is an adjunct instructor at a local university for the Master's of IT information security concentration curriculum. Ben is on the advisory board of numerous colleges and universities providing insight into the future of the information security field.
Ben Halpert has been involved in the development and delivery of Internet and computer safety materials since 2001. At the time, Ben saw a void in educational avenues for adult care givers (parents, teachers, etc.) to learn about the potential risks of having their children use computers online and what they could do to protect them. Over the years, Ben has presented Internet safety seminars at conferences, schools, and corporations.
Ben Halpert is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and is a PhD candidate at Nova Southeastern University.
