Editor's Letter: Full Speed Ahead

I have an aunt who, on significant calendar days, likes to encourage those around her to consider how quickly the years round up. To me on my 15th birthday: "Just think--in 15 more years you'll be 30!" And on my 31st: "Just think--in nine years you'll be 40!"

I've never been particularly grateful for these fast-forwards through time, and yet we've done a lot of looking ahead this issue: toward the changing presence of push email, the eventual adoption of second-generation solutions, advances in voice over IP and the wildly evolving markets for RFID technologies.

I'm also put in mind of how quickly a year passes when I look at the packed calendar we already have in place: articles and special issues you'll want to check out, webinars we hope you'll join in on, big plans for our Web site and even more live events.

In anticipation of your growing needs, we're also developing a Research Advisory Board that will cull the best thinking and advice on mobility today, so we can pass those resources on to you. And we're growing our Editorial Advisory Board to more fully represent the vertical markets we cover and to hear more from readers like you. The end users on our EAB are supporting mobile teams and purchasing and deploying solutions, and they're the truest gauge we have of what enterprise decision-makers are going through and what they want to know more about. So keep an eye on the box below to gauge our progress--and if you have a best-practices question for one of our members, email it to me and I'll pass it along.

And just think--in 10 short months we'll already be hosting our second annual Mobile Enterprise Executive Summit in Orlando. So mark your calendars for Nov. 7 through 9--I'm already looking forward to seeing you there.
