More than 1,700 vehicles in the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) fleet were equipped with Dell Latitude E6400 XFR rugged laptops and docking units. They were chosen based on the laptop's ability to perform well in the harsh Florida heat and humidity.

Gillette, WY, is deploying a city-wide high-speed wireless network for police, utilities, public works and engineering departments using IPWireless 3GPP-based mobile broadband solution. The network enhances public safety and improves data communications, while lowering overall communication costs.

Tecore Networks' core and radio access network (RAN) are being used to expand the GSM network of Arctic Slope Telephone Association Cooperative to cover Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, the largest oil field in North America. The network will quadruple the range of a GSM base station, and slash the cost of installation in remote locations, to serve exploration out on the edge.

Hancock Timber Resource Group is deploying Trimble's Blue Ox forestry transportation management system for operations across 850,000 acres in Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas. Blue Ox combines rugged mobile computing, GPS, and wireless communications.
