Spring Mobile Solutions, a provider of cloud-based, out-of-the box mobile applications, is providing its mobileRetail platform to the field staff of Douwe Egberts Nederland (division of D.E. MASTER BLENDERS 1753 Retail division).
The solution, which offers users the ability to work offline on iPads, as well as provide management critical insight in real time, will enable field representatives to quickly move from a manually-intensive, paper-based workflow to a fully automated platform mobilizing their field operations, as well as allowing the company to be more efficient and effective to serve their retail customers.
Douwe Egberts field staff predominantly visit supermarkets and hypermarkets; the company is positioned as number one for coffee and tea in the Netherlands. The Retail division – which sells a number of trusted brands – had been running with a limited and time intensive paper-based and manual data entry system for in-field activities.
“Our legacy system was not tailored to the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry and making changes was difficult and expensive. There was no real-time link to the reps in the field, and certainly no offline capabilities or ability to execute sales and merchandising actions as part of their store visits.

Douwe Egberts began researching vendors in the enterprise Retail Execution applications market. Over the course of six months they evaluated ten providers before selecting Spring Mobile Solutions.
