Centrify’s MDM Solutions Compatible with iOS 6

Centrify Corporation announced that two of its offerings, DirectControl for Mobile and the free Express for Mobile solution, support Apple iOS 6. This enables organizations to leverage Centrify’s cloud-based security service to manage users and devices and address enterprise mobility and BYOD challenges.

“With the wave of Apple mobile devices operating in organizations today, and the expectation that users will download iOS 6 to update their iPhones and iPads, it is imperative that solutions securing these devices support the latest available iOS version,” says David McNeely, Centrify senior director of product management.

The solutions enhance security and visibility through centralized management and reporting of enrolled devices and installed applications, allowing IT staff to securely bring large populations of Apple and Android devices under management without having to deploy additional infrastructure, learn new skill sets, or operate another management console.

Both versions provide integration with an organization’s on-premise active directory (AD) infrastructure and group policy-based management tools to enforce and update mobile security settings. The solution allows administrators to lock or remotely wipe devices, securely access email networks and enforce the use of passcodes, enabling them to easily assign devices to users and manage the associated properties and settings for each user’s device.

The AD integration enables the mobile device to be managed as an object in AD, automates public key infrastructure certificate enrollment, and allows administration and policy enforcement using AD-based tools. When combined with Centrify’s DirectControl for Mac OS X offering, organizations can obtain total control over authentication and security policy enforcement for Apple products in their environment.
