California dentist Alan R. Stein, D.D.S., implemented a new mobile technology for emergency patient care. This one-of-a-kind mobile app, created by Dental Anywhere, allows patients with smartphones to instantly communicate with his dental practice in the event of an emergency without emailing or calling.
By using the Touch-Screen Pain Management Center, one of seven app modules, patients can indicate through a dental diagram their emergency situation. Once activated, patients receive immediate dental care instructions with the option to alert the office.
The interactive dental diagram in the Pain Management Center allows patients to indicate the tooth or teeth in need of attention. Once selected, patients are prompted to pick a description of the problem and rate their level of discomfort. Depending on the information entered, the Touch-Screen Pain Management Center will automatically advise patients regarding their concerns and ask if they would like the dental office to be notified.
“Dental emergencies are unpredictable. It’s important not only to have the ability to contact me but to also get immediate advice on what to do when an emergency occurs,” says Dr. Stein.
