Gateway Turns County Vehicles Into Wireless Hotpots

— August 15, 2011

El Paso County Enhanced 911 Emergency Communications District is deploying In Motion Technology’s onBoard Mobile Gateway to boost wireless connectivity and improve situational awareness.

onBoard Mobile Gateway turns El Paso’s public safety vehicles into wireless hotspots, connecting employees to laptops, county-wide CAD system, automatic vehicle location (AVL), and e-ticketing. It also facilitates wireless access to automatic license plate recognition (ALPR), mobile two finger fast ID, and vehicle diagnostic and advanced GPS systems.

The gateway can be equipped with multiple radio cards, thus ensuring that mission-critical communications can be transmitted over the best available network. For more information on the onBoard Mobile Gateway, visit http://www.inmotiontechnology.com/products/omg.html.
