Industrial Battery Maker EnerSys Mobilizes Service Operations

By PRESS RELEASE — April 06, 2010

Milwaukee, WI -- Industrial battery company EnerSys selected Metrix Service and Metrix Mobile to automate the service operations for their Americas Motive and Reserve Power businesses.

Headquartered in Reading, Pennsylvania, EnerSys manufactures and services a broad line of batteries and chargers for electric lift trucks, ground support equipment, and mining equipment. Service technicians often go onsite to install, troubleshoot and repair industrial batteries and chargers.

EnerSys was prompted to look for a new software solution in order to gain efficiencies in their service operations, as well as offer more customer-focused service contracts.

"Being able to offer customized service contracts means that we can better fit the needs of our customers, and also provides EnerSys with incremental revenue opportunities," said Greg Zuckerman, Director of Service Operations. "Managing complex agreements using our current processes was difficult at best."

EnerSys will be utilizing all facets of Metrix Service, including Contact Center, Schedule and Dispatch, Inventory Management, and Asset and Warranty Tracking. They will extend the solution out to the field via Metrix Mobile, and they will also utilize Metrix's Customer Portal, where clients can request service as well as track their requests.

"After looking at various systems, Metrix clearly stood out as the best solution for EnerSys," said Greg Zuckerman. "Not only could they manage custom service contracts, they have a pre-built mobile application that is configurable to meet our specific needs, and can seamlessly integrate into our ERP and GPS tracking solutions. We're very excited to be joining the many companies who have standardized on the Metrix platform."

"EnerSys is all about providing extraordinary customer service," said Larry Laux, President and CEO of Metrix. "Their selection and usage of Metrix products will support and enhance that goal. Their clients will benefit from getting service and support contracts 'their way' and EnerSys will benefit from faster, more accurate information to and from their field operations. We're proud they have chosen us."
