InterNoded Offers MDM to Support Company-wide Smartphone Deployments

By PRESS RELEASE — September 29, 2008

Waltham, MA--InterNoded, the leader in mobile device lifecycle management, today announced it is offering enterprises the ability to customize the mobile infrastructure management that's right for them with its newly released IMDM 4.0 On Demand.

The company's On Demand support is designed for businesses who want to take advantage of vital mobile solutions including company-wide smartphone deployment with email and application management. On Demand combines InterNoded's core mobile device management software with comprehensive service options that can be customized for any mobile enterprise environment. The solution is currently being used to support tens of thousands of mobile devices within the world's largest organizations. Current IMDM On Demand customers include BearingPoint, Peabody Energy, AG Edwards, Dunkin' Brands, among others.

Building on top of the company's flagship product IMDM 4.0 launched in May and now generally available, On Demand offers enterprises an additional range of services that allow organizations to better maintain and support mobile workers.  On Demand incorporates all of the benefits of IMDM 4.0 such as fast activation of end-users' device of choice, support for corporate--wide security policies and applications regardless of handset type, carrier or platform while giving businesses more options as to how mobile devices are managed throughout their lifecycle.

Enterprises can choose to have InterNoded remotely manage all mobile device servers; host portions of the wireless infrastructure; or fully host an enterprise's entire mobile infrastructure including the Exchange or Domino email servers.  IMDM On Demand also offers several help desk support options allowing a business to better allocate IT resources for innovation and strategic objectives.

"Over the past year we've seen exponential growth in the number of smartphone devices flowing into the enterprise with Gartner estimating that by 2010 there will be over 1 billion users accessing email on their mobile devices and smartphones worldwide outnumbering the installed base of personal computers," said Julie Palen, InterNoded's CEO. "Businesses must adapt to the evolving mobile workforce within their organizations faster than ever before including support for a wider variety of handsets, new applications, and a constant recognition of security threats both internally and externally. Given this climate, mobile device management is now more important than ever, and with our onsite or on demand options, businesses of any size can deploy mobile devices enterprise-wide hassle free."

In addition to the service layer that On Demand provides, IMDM 4.0 features include support for leading wireless middleware platforms, including BlackBerry Enterprise ServerTM, Windows MobileTM, and Good Mobile MessagingTM allowing both IT and end-users the ability to activate and provision a variety of devices and platforms from one central system.  IMDM 4.0 offers the market's only multiplatform solution to address the increasing need for comprehensive application management at the enterprise level.

IMDM 4.0 also features the ability for IT to automatically push applications to users; upgrade, activate or wipe devices; as well as proactively report device status to the IMDM server. The rules-based framework enables better IT control and compliance for automated security policy and application distribution on each device, based on each user's corporate profile.

"There is no doubt that application management is one of our customers' top priorities," added Julie Palen. "We are confident IMDM 4.0 On Demand answers an important call from enterprises to have a better, more efficient way to push, provision and monitor mission critical apps enterprise-wide."
