Mobile App Contract From the US Census Bureau Goes to Agilex

Agilex, a provider of mission and technology solutions to the healthcare, national security and public sectors, today announced that it has been awarded a 4-year prime contract with the U.S. Census Bureau for mobile application development. Agilex offerings include strategy development, program management, solution and application development, systems engineering, training and operational support.
Agilex will help the Census Bureau capitalize on new and emerging mobile technologies, including smartphones and tablets, to enhance its field survey and data collection initiatives. The company will support the Technologies Management Office in expanding and enhancing the mobile application development practice within the Census Bureau.
As part of this process, Agilex will work with the Census Bureau to develop new applications for field data collection and other survey requirements that can be readily deployed across multiple devices and platforms. Agilex will also help establish a common framework for mobile application development and implement a distributed development environment.
Members of the Agilex team for the Census Bureau program include Gunnison Consulting and MapText. Gunnison Consulting provides federal agencies with strategic IT consulting and engineering services, and has supported the Census Bureau since the company's inception in 1994. MapText is a leading provider of automated mapping and label placement solutions for the public sector.
