Motorola: Our ES 400 Enterprise Device Is Targeting The Field Service Workforce

By  Regina Ciardiello, Special To Mobile Enterprise — June 24, 2010

The Enterprise Mobility Solutions division of Motorola introduced the newest addition to its mobile computing portfolio -- the ES400 global Enterprise Digital Assistant -- at a media briefing on Thursday, June 17.

VSR, a sister publication of Mobile Enerprise, attended the live event, which was held at the NY Stock Exchange.

Designed with integrated voice and data capabilities, the ES400 allows mobile professionals to access information and interaction they need to transform operations and increase enterprise profitability, anywhere, at any time.

The device is suited for a variety of verticals where field service tasks must be completed, specifically healthcare, retail (including direct store delivery) utilities, manufacturing, transportation/distribution and other SMBs that are required to collect data and access business-critical applications and back-end systems on the spot.

The event kicked off with Gene Delaney, president, Motorola Enterprise Mobility Solutions welcoming industry media, as well as executives from Motorola, Microsoft, Sprint, Syclo and Antenna -- all of whom have partnered with the manufacturer on this device. Delaney also noted that today's end users have a priority to make their workers as productive as they can be in the field, and want to do this while enhancing operations.
