New Collaboration App for Business Tablets

— May 09, 2011

AceProject Mobile is a cross-platform project management Web app that is compatible with Apple's iPad, Android-powered tablets (such as the Motorola Xoom and the Samsung Galaxy Tab), and the BlackBerry Playbook. AceProject Mobile provides users with a gateway between their tablets and their AceProject accounts by empowering them to manage their projects, tasks, documents, and timesheets (thanks to a time clock). Since it is a Web app, AceProject Mobile eliminates the annoyances that come with updates and device compatibility, among other things.

Before BlackBerry OS 6, the application was not fully compatible with BlackBerry devices. "The Webkit-enabled browser in BlackBerry OS 6 made it possible, and the PlayBook launch led us to carry it out," says Michel Bourbeau, graphic designer and Web integrator for Websystems. The BlackBerry PlayBook was the only tablet AceProject Mobile did not support, and Websystems wanted to support it in a timely manner.

Daniel Raymond, Websystems' founder and owner, strongly believes in cross-platform mobile Web apps for mobile devices: "Native apps are great but web apps are more convenient, cost-effective and time-saving from a development standpoint. Furthermore, they are hassle-free for companies with users who own various types of mobile devices. We always believed in the SaaS model for AceProject, and think likewise for AceProject Mobile in the long run."

For the tech-savvy, AceProject Mobile is compatible with the following devices, operating systems and web browsers: BlackBerry 6+ (smartphones and Playbook), Android 2.1+ (smartphones and tablets), iOS (iPhone and iPad), Firefox for Mobile (Android) and Internet Explorer (Windows Phone 7).
