Safe Move to Microsoft Office 365

— July 09, 2013

Through enterprise class encryption, CipherCloud for Office 365 is designed to mitigate against cloud threats, hackers and accidental leakage of information in the cloud. At the same time, the operations-preserving encryption delivers a seamless user experience so that application functions - such as searching, sorting and reporting - remain unaltered.

“The shift to enterprise cloud applications requires organizations to have trust in a securely delivered cloud,” said Dev Ghoshal, SVP of Strategy & Alliances, CipherCloud. “We are working closely with Microsoft's partner ecosystem to deliver unbreakable and operations-preserving encryption to enable customers to meet their privacy and compliance requirements.”

The solution offers end-to-end encryption for Office 365 with full support for emails, contacts, calendars and attachments and enables the organization to retain the keys for tighter security control of their sensitive data. By encrypting sensitive data before it leaves an organization's network and giving the organization exclusive control over the encryption keys, the solution ensures security and compliance for sensitive information residing in Office 365.

Additional enhancements provide security controls for mitigating cloud risks, including:

  • Enabling Office 365 email capabilities, such as, archiving and e-discovery, anti-virus and anti-spam capabilities, cloud data loss prevention (DLP), custom mail routing, recipient policies, alerts, reporting and Exchange Online management tools
  • Delivering conditional email encryption provides policy-based rules, such as, automatically encrypting emails from specified user groups as well as attachments containing personally identifiable information
  • Supporting hybrid deployments so organizations can combine on-premise Exchange with cloud email systems
  • Enabling all mobile devices and Outlook clients without requiring additional software
The CipherCloud platform provides universal support for commercially available enterprise cloud applications for CRM, collaboration, and email, which include, Chatter,, Microsoft Office 365, Amazon Web Services, Box and tailored solutions through CipherCloud's Connect AnyApp.
