As organizations embrace mobility as a primary IT platform, managing growing mobile deployments becomes increasingly complex and presents an operational burden for IT.
To simplify mobile operations at scale, MobileIron offers new Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) capabilities, including:
Integrations with Splunk software provide critical information to support threat detection, problem resolution, and strategic decision-making.
Help@Work is a new way for employees to share iOS device screens with help desk personnel.
Tunnel is one of the first products to deliver per app VPN on iOS without wrapping or an SDK.
“Mobility unlocks human potential in the workplace and helps our customers establish competitive advantage,” said Sean Convery, Vice President of Product Management at MobileIron. “But as a company’s mobile deployment expands, the operational burden on IT can become overwhelming without the right management platform.”
As mobile becomes a primary computing platform in the enterprise, organizations need an integrated view across mobile devices and other systems for critical information to support threat detection, problem resolution and strategic decision-making. New integrations with Splunk software are the embedding of Splunk software into the MobileIron platform and the release of the MobileIron App for Splunk Enterprise.
Integrated with the company’s EMM platform, Splunk software can extract more than 200 machine data fields per mobile device that describe an organization’s mobile environment and provide comprehensive system health data. This data is then collected by Splunk Enterprise where the mobile machine data can be correlated with other IT data and analyzed in either of the integrations.
Available on the Splunk Apps website, the MobileIron App for Splunk Enterprise works in tandem with the Splunk software embedded on MobileIron’s EMM platform to provide pre-built visualizations about an organization’s mobile IT machine data and generate graphs, reports, alerts and dashboards.
Streamlining iOS Support
Help@Work is a customizable iOS tool that enables users to share their iOS screens with support staff with a tap so employees no longer have to spend valuable time trying to describe their issues, and help desk staff no longer struggle to identify the problems that users are describing.
Help@Work features include:
Screen sharing of the entire device: Screen sharing sessions display the entire device to help desk staff, but are initiated and confirmed by the end user to ensure privacy. Sharing sessions can take place over the WAN, Wi-Fi, and cellular networks, and inside and outside the network.
Customizable experience: Companies can customize the app with simple text and logo updates or even change the look and feel of the end-to-end employee experience. Customization is done via HTML and does not require specialized UI knowledge.
Simple distribution: IT administrators can distribute Help@Work in a few simple steps.
The app simplifies IT operations by improving communication between employees and help desk staff—to resolve issues faster.
Simplifying IT operations, by providing secure connectivity and SSO for mobile apps without the need for new back-end infrastructure—MobileIron Tunnel—a per app VPN, securely connects mobile apps to back
-end systems. Tunnel delivers an end-to-end solution for per app VPN on iOS to secure data-in-motion from almost any managed App Store app.
It allows organizations to authorize both internally-built apps and app store apps to access corporate resources behind the firewall. Unapproved and personal apps are blocked from using Tunnel, which enhances security and protects user privacy.
The app simplifies authentication through its support of iOS 7 SSO and MobileIron’s ability to proxy Kerberos, allows iOS 7 SSO to be used with devices that are not on the corporate network without needing to expose the Kerberos Key Distribution Center (KDC).
