St. Joseph Mercy Goes Wireless
Corning MobileAccess, part of Corning Inc.'s telecommunications segment, announced that St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor has expanded its wireless capabilities and connectivity at the hospital through the deployment of a Corning MobileAccess distributed antenna system (DAS).
St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor is a healthcare provider in Ann Arbor, MI, and a member of Saint Joseph Mercy Health System (SJMHS). The Corning solution allows patients and visitors to communicate with family and loved ones outside of the facility while allowing access to physicians and staff.
"The modern hospital requires more than just Wi-Fi. Healthcare providers like St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor need to have seamless cellular service throughout their facilities," said Tom Tocco, vice president of support services and capital projects at SJMHS.
This deployment comes shortly after a sister hospital, St. Joseph Mercy Oakland in Pontiac, Mich., also implemented a Corning MobileAccess DAS through RF Connect.
