— March 01, 2011

Sybase, Inc., an SAP company and industry leader in enterprise and mobile software, has published its inaugural Enterprise Mobility Guide 2011. The 130-page book features strategic advice, actionable tips, and success stories from leading mobility solutions providers. Aimed at senior business and IT leaders, the guide covers the latest trends in mobile device management and app development on platforms such as iOS, RIM, and Android as well as fast-rising mobile devices like smartphones and tablets.

Content contributors to the guide include experts from Accenture, Google, Motorola, Orange, RIM, Samsung, Verizon, Yankee Group, Enterprise Mobility Forum, as well as Sybase and SAP. The guide also includes more than 30 market surveys and forecasts from Gartner, Forrester Research, Yankee, Evans Data, Frost & Sullivan, CIO Strategy Forum, Computerworld and Kelton Research. The Sybase Enterprise Mobility Guide is a valuable reference tool for decision makers who are looking for best practice guidance on deploying mobile devices and apps within their organization.

"With the groundswell of smartphone and tablet penetration crossing into the enterprise, consumer demand is driving IT to quickly implement mobility solutions across the entire enterprise," says Dr. Raj Nathan, EVP and CMO, Sybase. "Sybase is a longstanding player and pioneer in the enterprise mobility space with deep expertise and best practices developed alongside a strong partner and customer ecosystem. We recognize that this 'how-to' education from industry leaders is an important first step in helping customers meet market demand, serving as the impetus for creating the Enterprise Mobility Guide."

A recent survey by Kelton Research highlighted that in 2011, 90% of IT managers surveyed are planning to implement new mobile applications and nearly one in two believe that successfully managing mobile applications will top their priority list. As a result, both hosted and on-premise mobility solutions powered by a strong mobile enterprise application platform are valuable options for businesses to seriously consider in 2011.
