In a recent survey by iPass & MobileIron, when all of IT managers’ major concerns were compiled, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) onboarding (the integration of personal mobile devices into company networks) and support for BYOD topped the list.
To address those needs, Antenna Software, enterprise mobility specialists, and Huawei, a global information and communications technology solutions provider, have decided to form an enterprise mobility partnership. Huawei will resell Antenna’s award-winning platform, AMPchroma, as part of its BYOD Mobility Solution. The companies showcased the new solution at the recent CeBIT 2013 in Hannover, Germany.
AMPchroma, which links office applications to a mobile device that can be used anytime, anywhere, will provide the platform to mobilize Huawei BYOD solutions, and Antenna will assist Huawei with development services to build mobile applications on this platform.
The joint solution is designed to address a key IT challenge for enterprises: the consumerization of IT, where employees bring their own devices to work and use those devices in both their work and personal lives. According to a June 2012 report from McKinsey & Company, around 77% of CIOs today state that they will allow some form of consumerization in the coming years.
