BlackBerry Launches Q5

BlackBerry has introduced the BlackBerry Q5, a “youthful and fun BlackBerry 10 smartphone” for selected markets. Featuring a QWERTY keyboard, its discrete keys have been re-engineered to help users type fast, accurately and with the least amount of effort.

“BlackBerry is excited to bring a new BlackBerry QWERTY smartphone, the BlackBerry Q5, to our customers in selected markets around world,” said Thorsten Heins, President and CEO of BlackBerry.”

Instant Action shortcuts allow users to perform tasks faster while the BlackBerry Hub accesses messages and social conversations. With a 3.1” touchscreen, the smartphone features BlackBerry Time Shift mode and Story Maker to combine photos, videos and music. BBM BlackBerry Messenger enables video conversation and screen share sharing, whether it’s a photo, a page in the browser, an idea, or a view from the camera.

In addition, more than 100,000 apps are available through the BlackBerry World storefront.

The new Q5 smartphone will be available in selected markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa,  Asia (including the Asia Pacific region), and Latin America, with expected availability beginning in July.
