Political views notwithstanding, anyone with a vested interest in enterprise mobility can't help but anticipate big things ahead from President Barack Obama's Administration.
After all, as IT World points out, it's hard to top the President of the United States as an advocate for the cause.
Indeed, President Obama's enthusiasm about the usefulness of his BlackBerry is itself a ringing endorsement for the value mobility can bring to an enterprise. The latest news we saw at press time on January 19 says that he may be able to keep the device but his staff will lose the ability to use IM.
The discussion, of course, goes far beyond how the Obama Administration will use mobile tools internally -- and how they'll seek to apply them to all branches of the Federal Government. If the Obama election campaign is any indication (one marketing publication delcares him Mobile Marketer Of The Year), we can also expect a transformation in how government communicates with the public.
In fact, in advance of the inauguration, the Obama folks were already using inauguration-related SMS to issue a call for citizens to consider national service.
After all, if the Obama Administration is embracing mobility, why wouldn't your enterprise also say "Yes, We Can."?
