CompanionLink To Sync MS Outlook to Palm Pre

By PRESS RELEASE — April 13, 2009

PORTLAND, OR -- CompanionLink Software, a leader in synchronization solutions, offers a two-way sync solution between Microsoft Outlook and Google

Palm has separately announced their Palm Synergy technology will link the Palm Pre phone to Google Contacts and Calendar services.
While Palm has offered a solution to link Microsoft Exchange with the Palm Pre, CompanionLink's solution will guarantee that standalone Microsoft Outlook users also have a two-way sync solution available.

"While Palm has made few concrete announcements about Palm Synergy capabilities, the recent demonstrations with the Palm Pre and Palm Synergy show a viable Outlook solution of which CompanionLink is a part," says Wayland Bruns, CEO of CompanionLink Software. "Tim Pettitt, Product Manager for Palm Pre, at CTIA 2009 showed the Palm Pre Calendar application and discussed sync capabilities to Google. Since CompanionLink already supports Outlook to Google sync, it means Synergy/Outlook users will have the ability to get their desktop contacts and calendar information on their Palm Pre phones on the same day that the Palm Pre launches."

CompanionLink for Google allows Microsoft Outlook users to seamlessly sync their contacts, calendar and tasks to Google. CompanionLink is well known for their depth of data integrity and ability to handle worldwide time zones, phone formats, and recurring appointments which are often scrambled by competing sync solutions. Complete two-way sync ensures that any change to data in either Outlook or Google is automatically updated.

"We look forward to Palm announcing a Synergy SDK to allow CompanionLink to synchronize Outlook, Lotus Notes, ACT! by Sage, Outlook Business Contact Manager, and Novell GroupWise data directly to the Palm Pre. Until that time, our currently available products will support the early adopters of the Palm Pre. As we improve our products, Palm Pre users will be able to upgrade without charge by downloading from our website," says Bruns.

CompanionLink for Google sells for $29.95 and comes with free technical support. The software supports two-way sync with both personal Google accounts and Google Apps accounts. A 14-day evaluation version of the software is available .
