The new event is called CTIA Enterprise & Applications and is scheduled for Oct. 6-8 in San Francisco, officials said today.

The event will refocus on "vertical segments, including enterprise and cloud computing, media, content, health, energy, retail, and transportation," according to a CTIA statement.
