harmon.ie Now Available for BlackBerry Z10 and Q10

— May 15, 2013

harmon.ie, is now offering a native Office 365 and SharePoint app for the BlackBerry Z10 and Q10 smartphones. Available through BlackBerry World, the app will be offered as part of the new harmon.ie 4.0 product suite which debuted at BlackBerry Live in Orlando, FL.

By combining the productivity of Office 365 with a native BlackBerry 10 app user experience, harmon.ie is enabling executives using a Q10 or Z10 smartphone to be productive in the workplace and to use the phone as a business tool.

The new app provides full-featured Office 365 and on premise SharePoint functionality, including secure connectivity and offline document access, so that users can securely access, edit and share documents from the cloud and collaborate in real-time in a social environment. Users receive real-time updates as colleagues update important documents, then follow those documents with an intuitive activity stream of collaboration activities.

Employees can save Office 365 documents on their device so they will be available off-line, and upload documents received as email attachments onto Office 365 to device and from device to Office 365, keeping the device secure.

“Users demand the same productive experience from their applications wherever they are, and on whatever device they are using,” said Yaacov Cohen, CEO of harmon.ie. “With these newest BlackBerry 10 smartphone apps, harmon.ie is targeting the busy information workers who want to actually ‘use’ their device and not just ‘bring’ it to work.”

What’s New in 4.0?
“A number of years ago, we embarked on a five-year plan to save the taxpayers of the State of Missouri $512M by reducing headcount, facilities and equipment, and putting the savings into our transportation system,” said Michael Miller, assistant director of Information Systems for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT). “In order to increase our productivity in our new environment, we've used harmon.ie together with SharePoint, and they have been critical success factors in helping us to reach our goals. As we move to expand collaboration with our external partners and contractors, we are excited about the new capabilities available in harmon.ie 4.0 to reach mobile users in our extended enterprise.”

The new harmon.ie 4.0, which is available immediately and sold on a subscription basis, provides the following key Office 365 capabilities:

  • Enterprise document security on mobile devices, including support for data-less mobile devices with Office Web Apps and documents residing on the cloud without compromising the device, as well as secure offline support for BlackBerry 10 out of the box.
  • A social Yammer experience integrated into Outlook and Outlook Web Apps 2013. Now users can micro-blog using Yammer in the email window, hold group conversations, preview documents, and @mention colleagues to get them into the discussion – from the same window where people spend much of their work time.
  • Support for new Office 365 features, including SkyDrive Pro and document preview inside Outlook. With SkyDrive Pro, you can make SharePoint content available offline and selectively share documents with partners who don’t have access to your SharePoint services. Document preview allows you to quickly browse SharePoint documents without having to download each of them to your device.
