iPhone 2009, Palm Pre Have Tongues Wagging

By  Susan Nunziata — May 12, 2009

Lots of rumor, gossip and innuendo surround the impending news of a next-gen iPhone and the commercial debut of the new Palm Pre.

The Pre, announced earlier this year at CES, is expected to make its commercial launch in June.

Although Sprint and Palm are keeping mum about a specific U.S. launch date, rumor is that the smartphone will be available stateside on June 7. Palm may cap the stock at 400,000 to help drive demand.

A major new feature for the Pre is the Touchstone wireless charger accessory.

Best Buy is reportedly already stocking the Touchstone chargers.

Meanwhile, Apple is expected to announce the so-called iPhone 2009 at its World Wide Developers Conference 2009, which begins June 8.

iPhone 2009 is reportedly a video powerhouse.

Despite much prosumer love for the iPhone, we're still waiting to meet the organization that's accepted the device for widespread enterprise use.
