Citrix Bundles for EMM
In addition to its enterprise mobile device management (MDM) solution, Citrix is now offering a new mobile solutions bundle, giving enterprises the choice of an MDM-only strategy or a broader-based enterprise mobility management (EMM) solution.
"A lot of organizations view BYOD as their biggest challenge," said Chandra Sekar, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Mobile Platforms Group at Citrix. "So they opt for the MDM only solution, initially, and then quickly the conversation turns to mobilizing apps and protecting the data on these devices."
XenMobile MDM will provide mobile device management capabilities from Zenprise (recently acquired by Citrix), allowing users access to emails, apps and documents from anywhere, through role-based management, configuration and security of corporate and employee-owned devices.
The solution is built on a highly secure architecture and integrates directly with Microsoft Active Directory and public key infrastructure systems, as well as security information and event management tools. Users can self-service enroll their devices while IT can provision policies and apps to large groups of devices. IT can also blacklist or whitelist apps, detect and protect against jailbroken devices, and wipe or selectively wipe a device that is lost, stolen or out of compliance.
EMM Solution
The Mobile Solutions Bundle is comprised of XenMobile MDM and CloudGateway to deliver five key capabilities:
- Enterprise MDM
- Native mobile apps for email, Web access, collaboration and data sharing
- Mobile app containers
- Unified app store
- Identity management, single sign-on and scenario-based access control for enhanced security
Mobile app containers centralize IT management, security and control for any mobile app, whether created by a third party or enterprise IT. The unified app store provides a single place for users to access all of their apps – mobile, web, SaaS, and Windows – on any device.
