Cloak Unveils VPN App at Macworld
Cloak has released its 1.0 VPN app to protect iPhone, iPad and Macbook users from having data intercepted when browsing websites over public Wi-Fi networks.
The app debuted at the recent Macworld/iWorld 2013.
By encrypting all communications transmitted over public Wi-Fi, the app is designed to automatically detect unsafe connections and secure them. When a user joins an unsecured network, the app activates the VPN.
Cloak, founded by three Microsoft veterans, is currently offering a 30-day free account to all new users. Users also have the option to sign up for a basic or pro account, which costs $8 to $15 per month depending on data needs.
