Fujitsu Debuts Two Tablet Solutions

It was a busy start to the week for Fujitsu. The company publicly unveiled two new products on Monday at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto that, it believes, will enhance office productivity and data security with a variety of features when they become available to the public later this quarter.
The first of these products, the STYLISTIC Q702 hybrid tablet, is the latest in Fujitsu’s STYLISTIC series and features an 11.6-inch AH-IPS HD display, dual digitizer, multi-touch display for pen or touch input and an optional attachable keyboard docking station that allows the tablet to function as a notebook. Additionally, the tablet comes with WLAN, USB, and VGA connectivity as well as an additional battery.
“Fujitsu continues to grow its mobile portfolio with form factors designed for how people work,” said Paul Moore, Vice President of PC Product Marketing and Product Management for Fujitsu America. “We pay close attention to what the market requires, such as delivering a system that isn’t sealed, which is reflected in the design of the STYLISTIC Q702 hybrid tablet. These are the types of distinctions, both subtle and obvious, that continue to set Fujitsu apart.”
Second is the LIFEBOOK T902. Fujitsu’s convertible tablet PC has undergone a makeover with enhancements including an isolation keyboard and a dual digitizer with 10-finger multi-touch support to navigate its 13.3 inch HD+ widescreen display.
Two Lightweight, Mobile Enterprise Solutions
Both the LIFEBOOK T902 and STYLISTIC Q702 weigh less than five pounds and boast a long battery life, making them easier for business professionals to take on the go. The new LIFEBOOK weighs 4.1 pounds and is capable of supporting two batteries; its standard, six-cell battery and an additional modular bay battery. If combined, Fujitsu expects its users to get approximately eleven hours of battery life out of the device.
The STYLISTIC Q702 is also capable of supporting two batteries – the device’s standard battery and an integrated battery in its keyboard docking station – for an estimated nine hours of battery life. Additionally, Fujitsu believes that on-the-go professionals will appreciate the device’s weight of approximately 1.88 pounds
Intel-Enhanced Performance and Security
Both new devices are powered by third-generation Intel processors. The STYLISTIC Q702 is powered by an Intel Core i3 or i5 processor, while the new LIFEBOOK is powered by Intel Core i5 or i7 processors. Intel also has a hand in protecting the data on each device, and does so with Intel Anti-Theft Technology and optional Intel vPro Technology for each.
Rick Echevarria, Vice President of the Intel Architecture Group and General Manager of the Business Client Platforms Division of Intel Corporation, believes that the use of Intel products will make all users happy with the devices.
“Powered by third-generation Intel Core vPro processors, the STYLISTIC Q702 delivers breakthrough performance and power efficiency with a beautiful slate design and the flexibility of an added keyboard for creation capability needed for business productivity,” Echevarria said. “Third generation Intel Core vPro platforms enable more secure environments and enhance the experiences of workers and IT to compute with confidence in all areas, including immersive collaboration usages and harnessing big data to gain and share business insights.”
The similarities in the security features of the two devices don’t stop at Intel, however; each comes with a biometric fingerprint sensor, Computrace device tracking support and HDD and BIOS password protection.
Fujitsu and Windows Strengthen Their Bond
Both the STYLISTIC Q702 and the LIFEBOOK T902 come available to users with Windows 7 Professional. Moreover, in anticipation of the release of Windows 8, both devices come compatible with the soon-to-be-released operating system.
With this, Fujitsu and Windows continue an already-strong partnership that, according to Nick Parker, Corporate Vice President of the OEM Division of Microsoft, allows both companies to have a growing presence in the commercial realm.
