GammaTech Adds to Its Line of Rugged Tablet PCs

By Ariel Jones

Gammatech, a manufacturer of rugged notebook and tablet computers, recently introduced the latest addition to their RT10 line of ruggedized tablet PCs. The RT10C, which is designed for use in industrial environments, features a 10.2" touchscreen, Windows 7 compatibility, and an Intel Core i7-620UE mobile processor.

Designed to be portable and let users stay connected in the work environment, the RT10C supports both wi-fi and Bluetooth technologies, and weighs five pounds. The rugged tablet also meets military 810G standards for durability and IP65 standards for dust resistance; its sealed design guards internal components to make the unit drop-proof, spill-proof, shock-proof, dust-proof, and watertight.

The hi-resolution WSVGA TFT LCD touchscreen display also features an LED backlight and responds to both stylus and fingertips. The nine-cell Smart lithium-ion battery delivers up to five hours of usage. Other features include an AC power connector, two USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet port, PCMCIA slot, two mini-card slots, CompactFlash slot and VGA port.

"The RT10C is a perfect unit for system integration in the industrial industry, such as the automotive market," GammaTech's Vice President of Sales and Marketing Paul Kim said in a statement. "As with the custom capability of all of our products, the unit also provides the user with an exceptional built-to-specs, on-the-job PC solution."
