GlobalEnglish Launches Cloud-Based Software Suite

GlobalEnglish Corporation has announced the worldwide availability of the GlobalEnglish Suite, a cloud-based enterprise software platform designed to help global companies communicate and collaborate.

The solution is intended to help global organizations improve Business English skills across a region, a division, or the entire global workforce, with tools for subscribers to increase their skills at their convenience from anywhere.

“Twelve years ago, we were the first to deliver on-demand English training software-as-a-service that delivered a richer, more effective and easy-to-access learning environment than a classroom setting,” GlobalEnglish president Tom Kahl said in a statement. “Today, we’re moving a leap ahead with a complete, on-demand platform that includes mobile, enterprise social software, improved productivity tools and embedded expertise that delivers Business English assistance where and when companies and employees need it most.”

The GlobalEnglish Suite is compromised of the following software products:
  • GlobalEnglish Edge -- An on-demand software platform for formal learning, coupled with on-the-job support for work tasks in English such as writing emails, enhancing presentations or handling negotiations. The core Business English curriculum is taught in the context of relevant business situations with support for 15 languages, enabling non-native speakers to grasp the material more effectively.
  • GlobalEnglish Bloom -- A collaboration platform focused on global communication and Enterprise Fluency. GlobalEnglish Bloom offers social capabilities to help native and non-native English speakers work together to improve the speed and quality of their work and leverage global and local expertise to complete professional tasks in Business English.
  • GlobalEnglish LinGo Pro -- A mobile business app that makes Business English tools available via smartphones, tablets and other browser-based devices. GlobalEnglish LinGo Pro allows subscribers to access comprehensive lists of industry-specific and topic-specific vocabulary in addition to unique company-specific jargon and acronyms.
  • GlobalEnglish STEP and GlobalEnglish STEP+ -- Adaptive online tests that assess employee Business English proficiency and identify skills gaps, offering a way to measure progress and skills gains across the enterprise over time.
  • GlobalEnglish Coach -- A web-based platform that allows subscribers to work with a native-English speaking coach, including live conversation sessions via telephone or Skype, flexible scheduling, preparation materials, follow-up activities and post-session feedback.
“GlobalEnglish is the first company delivering a comprehensive, on-demand software platform to solve all the Business English challenges of multinational companies,” company CEO Mahesh Ram said in a statement. “We no longer see the solution to be online English teaching alone. Companies urgently need a way to put English to work immediately and new ways for globally dispersed teams to collaborate on a common platform.”

The company’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform leverages technologies such as automatic speech recognition, text to speech, multi-platform mobile applications, company-specific content creation tools and automated document collaboration.

“Our Global 2000 customers across all sectors depend on us to strengthen their operational and financial performance through effective collaboration and communication in English -- the most fundamental competency to permeate a global organization,” Ram said.
