Send It, Share It, Securely
YouSendIt, a cloud file collaboration service, has revamped its mobile app for the iPhone and launched new apps for Windows 8, Windows Phone 8 and the Samsung S-Pen.
The new iOS app allows users to better access documents, presentations, video and more from anywhere. Users can send and store files, share folders and sign documents using their iPhone, with any changes securely synced and instantly available for other devices and people.
In addition, the company recently partnered with Nokia to create exclusive features for their smartphone customers, including Near Field Communication (NFC) and content sharing between Lumia owners.
Eric Hart, network/infrastructure manager at PING, a premium golf equipment brand, noted that teams at his company use the cloud service on smartphones, tablets and traditional computers to collaborate with partners, clients and vendors. "YouSendIt has reduced the obstacles and effort it took to share information," Hart said.
Features include:
- Faster Access: quick-swipe on files or folders for access to actions toolbar
- Send Without Storing: send photos and videos straight from the device without saving to YouSendIt
- Quick Sign: create and save signatures to instantly add to any document later
- Rename: quick-swipe to rename files and folders
- Find: Sort files and folders by name, type, size and date
Security Concern
"Seventy-five percent of businesses allow employees to use their personal mobile devices for work purposes," said Matte Scheinker, chief product officer for YouSendIt. "These employees want to use their favorite productivity tools…while CIOs need to ensure the security of the company's data however people access it."
According to Scheinker, the new mobile apps provide the robust security required by businesses. The apps feature SAML-based Single Sign-On, remote wipe, centralized policy management, compliance reporting and end-to-end encryption.
The apps are free to download from the Apple Store, Windows Store, Windows Phone Store and Samsung Apps Store.
