June 2010 BlackBerry App Roundup
By Jeff Goldman
Several new BlackBerry apps were launched in June, along with some significant application updates. Many of the newly introduced applications are designed to connect to established solutions, including Vocera's communications system and Sage's ACT! contact and customer software, while others provide a wide range of standalone functionality.
Virtual phone system provider eVoice announced a free app that gives eVoice subscribers the ability to answer and route calls, search through saved voicemails, and access one-touch dialing functionality on their BlackBerry devices. The eVoice service, with plans starting at $12.95 per month, enables small business users to route incoming calls to multiple numbers in order to project a professional image.
Intercompany cloud collaboration provider Huddle
released an app
designed to give BlackBerry users full access to Huddle's document sharing functionality, along with project tasks, discussions and whiteboards, as well as a complete view of the user's dashboard. A read-only version of the app is available for free, while a full-featured version is priced at $4.99.
Sage North America
, a cloud-based service that gives BlackBerry users
mobile access to their ACT!

The service also makes the same data available via an online portal in
case the user's BlackBerry device is lost or stolen. Annual
to the service are priced at $120.
ERP software provider IQMS

app for BlackBerry smartphones, which enables BlackBerry users to view and manage CRM, workflow, inventory, customer pricing, sales orders, and more. The application maintains a constant connection to the EnterpriseIQ ERP system
, with no BlackBerry server required.

distracted driving app, launched the Caller ID Reader

Pro version removes the upgrade message for $9.95.

added new features to its PrivacyStar
