LA World Airport, GUESS, Inc. to Keynote 2012 Mobile Enterprise Executive Summit (MEES)

The 2012 Mobile Enterprise Executive Summit (MEES), #MEES12, takes place at the Ritz-Carlton in Sarasota, FL from Nov. 7-9. The theme is “Next Generation Enterprise Mobility Development,” and the agenda includes speakrs from Chevron Corp., Cornell University, Yankee Group, Kimberly-Clark, Universal Hospital, Skanska USA, Inc., ABM Industries, Bally Total Fitness and First Solar.

Keynotes
Opening the event is Dominic Nessi, CIO of Los Angeles World Airports who will share his perspective on how mobility is at the core for all businesses, as well as for state and local government entities. As one CEO puts it, "If you don't have a mobility plan, you don't have a business plan." He will focus on building a mobile strategy through gaining mobile buy-in and consensus from all key business stakeholders.

This year’s “Mobilizer Award” winners will be revealed for the first time and a representative from one of the winning companies will present a top deployment story.

Providing a visionary perspective to close out the event will be Bruce Yen, Director of Business Intelligence for GUESS, Inc. who will talk about the company’s holistic approach to mobility, which has moved beyond just anytime, anywhere information access to looking through the entire workflow.

The Business Case for Tablets
There’s no doubt that tablets are “cool,” highly portable and functional, but is there enough functionality to create a business case? Discuss at one of 4 topic tables at the opening breakfast on day two of the event. Other topics are: securing corporate data, application development and BYOD: Setting and managing policies.

Dig deeper into the case for tablets during a tablet workshop: “Mobility Outside the Box: Tablets - The New Enterprise Workhorse” and get answers to the following questions:

  • Should our company consider a tablet for our next employee hardware upgrade cycles?
  • What is the right hardware choice - iPad, Android or next gen Windows 8/ARM tablet?
  • What enterprise considerations must be taken into account before selecting the right hardware platform?
Enterprise Apps
Have you ever wondered what apps other companies think are most important? What apps should you mobilize for competitive advantage? They say ‘there’s an app for that’ for a reason – so how do you know which of the multitude of enterprise apps to target in your business?

These questions will be discussed in the panel session: “Top 10 Apps for the Enterprise,” facilitated Kevin Baradet, Chief Technology Officer, Cornell University, SC Johnson Graduate School.

Mobility Outlook
New devices are being released faster than IT and even consumers can keep up. But what else about mobility in the enterprise has changed in 2012?  What did business leaders think one year ago and what are they predicting for 2013?

Every year in conjunction with the Yankee Group, Mobile Enterprise releases the “Mobility Outlook.” The results will be discussed for the first time at the Summit with Yankee Group analyst and panel of enterprise executives.

Connecting with Attendees
The Summit also offers plenty of networking time so attendees can connect with peers from across verticals, who are addressing the same challenges. Dorene Rettas, Publisher of Mobile Enterprise, says, “Year after year, attendees tell us that one of the most valuable aspects of the Summit, is the networking time. The peer connections they make, plus the focused content with real-world experiences enable them to leave with actionable ideas.”

There is still plenty of time to register for the event here.
