The Road to the Right Device for the Job

Event Date: 11/19/2013 2:00:00 PM (EST) Duration: 60 mins

Choosing consumer devices for the enterprise appears to be the affordable solution at first, but they are not always the right device for the job.

Universal Hospital Services(UHS) has 2,500 employees, 2,300 of which are in the field. For the 200 who are not, their shiny consumer tablets do the job; but the delivery guys—those getting in and out of trucks all day, facing weather conditions, etc.—were pushing back saying “we need something better.”

Plus, for David Lawson, Senior VP Information and Strategic Resources, there were additional business requirements like support and warranty. On this webcast, he will talk about UHS’ road to finding the right device for the job, examining the differences between enterprise and consumer devices and how those differences impact performance, productivity and cost.

Moderator:
Lori Castle, Editor-in-Chief, Mobile Enterprise

Panelists:
David Krebs, VP of Enterprise Mobility and Connected Devices Practices, VDC Research
David Lawson, Sr. VP Information and Strategic Resources, Universal Hospital Services
Bruce Willins, Sr. Director Technology Solutions Group, Motorola Solutions
